Rhea Standke
Biography
Born in 1972 in Dresden, Germany. Lives and works between Düsseldorf and Vienna.
From the microcosm of the flower, Rhea Standke creates ecstatic new formations that transcend the material world. Using oil paint, she fluidly navigates between figuration and abstraction to explore the notions of limitless existence and infinity. Through splattering, striking the canvas, and layering oil paint, her works erupt with color and rhythm, unveiling a higher dimension that verges on the spiritual. As she explains, "I create a euphoric image of cosmic structures, where a limitless existence emerges at the center of light. A creator rises from the sea of time, shaping an infinite moment-one without beginning or end, free from the rhythm of day and night."
Rhea Standke earned her MFA in Painting from the Düsseldorf Academy, where she studied under Herbert Brandl. She also pursued Independent Painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, Germany, and at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under Professors Wolfgang Herzig and Johanna Kandl.
Her work has been showcased in over 70 solo and group exhibitions across four continents, including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the United States.
