The solo exhibition of Marina Olympios An Everlasting Love, brings together 35 paintings and a sculptural work created between 2018-2023 and explores the search for beauty and love, understanding, empathy, and the alternative view of ourselves.
Through fluid and intuitive gestures, Olympios goes beyond representation and attempts to find the basic, metaphysical truth of life. By using mineral colours that she personally collects from the earth, she creates new realities on the canvas, "a world becoming" where optimism and innocence are her guiding forces.
At a time where our conception of life goes through a metamorphosis, the exhibition "An Everlasting Love" rejects the absolute and invites the viewer to a journey of self-acceptance and rebirth. The free flow of natural minerals and iridescent colours on the canvas attempt to transcend the viewer to abstract landscapes reminiscent of the sea, the sky and the universe while maintaining a type of energy which comes from the artist's broad conceptions of life but also, nature itself.
